Web Developer (Coldfusion)

Web Developer (Coldfusion) for a Biker E-commerce Co!! Metric Cruisers and Harleys!

SiliconValleySearch.com - Livermore (San Francisco Bay Area)

Job Description

We are looking for a strong web developer to join a small East Bay team running and improving our internationally successful e-commerce website. If you love bikes, this might be a dream job for you. If not, it might still be a very good job for you.

My client has been serving the metric cruiser biker population with great product selection, fair prices, excellent customer service, and comprehensive product reviews on thousands of products. They are cash flow positive, branching successfully into the Harley V-Twin and other motorcycle markets, and gaining fast in South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. As passionate bikers, they provide the richest content in the business, and their customer service is phenomenal.
Customer experience is paramount, business is booming, passionate bikers to work with, and under 5% turnover! In other words, it’s a blast to work there. Plus, this is a reverse commute for most of you!!

We need someone experienced in Coldfusion, JQuery and SQLServer to enhance and add to the existing custom system and surrounding IT needs. There are exciting projects coming up including interfaces with potentially new CRM, Warehouse, and ERP systems.

This person will be managing many projects simultaneously as well as creating from concept through development, testing and documentation. As a team you will determine priorities and manage resources, including your own development. This is an opportunity to expand your project management skills with complicated inhouse, outsourced, US and global resources. Great skills to add to your professional development!

Pitching in as needed for PC/Network issues (about 5%) and website support issues is to be expected, and everyone shares time on the pager with average number of weekend/late night calls to be about 2.5 per month per IT member. Server Ops is outsourced to Colorado, and there is onsite Tier 1 help desk support as well as additional Tier 2 & 3 resources for complicated issues.

This is a reverse commute for most of the Bay Area! Oh yeah, I already said that. Unfortunately, we can't pay Silicon Valley rates, but we will make up for it in stability, fun, and a better commute.

Desired Skills & Experience

For this position we require all candidates to have:
A collaborative nature and a passion for excellence. A passion for bikes is a BIG plus!
A talent to communicate effectively with diverse people and individuals at various levels within the organization.
Skill at managing competing priorities and multiple responsibilities at various levels.
Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Experience in retail business, B2C, e-commerce, etc.
An understanding of IT and the Website as THE critical function of the business, and be able to understand how changes impact the entire company.
Must be into the business more than having a dedication to the actual tools.
4+ years experience in a range of IT and Web based roles.
Coldfusion, JQuery, and SQLServer skills required.
Familiarity with Windows, ERP, and MSOffice.
Essential interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

We would love it if you have any of the following:
Java and Javascript

BSCS or equivalent.

I work evenings and long weekends to make it convenient for you to talk. I meet everyone in person and ask for one brief reference early in the process, if I don't know you otherwise.
