Job Purpose:
Provide technology leadership by developing proposals for strategic development projects that lead to long-term, technology-based competitive advantages. Projects will improve and extend existing products to increase revenue and/or decrease operating expenses. Other projects may lead to new products and solutions. The architect will insure that we have a pipeline of fresh technologies and solutions designed to address new challenges.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Incubate high impact, potentially difficult technologies that will have a dramatic impact on our products, solutions, and customers.
- Improve/extend existing products to increase revenue and/or decrease operating expenses. These include advanced data storage/processing techniques and algorithms.
- Collaborate with strategic business planning and product management teams to understand target market segments and business cases.
- Create technology and product platform roadmaps based on corporate strategy, industry direction, emerging technology, and research.
- Author white papers and make presentations to colleagues across NRS. Promote the leverage of proprietary technology across NRS products
- Develop high-level designs, proof-of-concept software implementations, and framework code libraries.
- Assemble complete development project proposals.
Internal Responsibilities:
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Employee Handbook, as may be amended from time to time. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations and the company's governance/compliance program.
- Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation. Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts.
- Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction. Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility. Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process.
- Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management.
Minimum Knowledge, Competencies & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in associated field (Computer Science or Engineering).
- Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming: 7+ years.
- C#, .NET, C++, MS SQL DB, Web Services knowledge.
- Experience scaling reliable, distributed systems with hardware efficiency.
- Experience with a variety of UI, workflow, and data processing frameworks, patterns, and algorithms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Aptitude for problem solving.
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Knowledge of the healthcare industry.
