PHP Developer

Job Description

Our client is looking for a talented PHP Software Developer with solid knowledge of PHP development. In this role your major responsibility will be PHP development for our customized CRM & ERP systems which support our clients in-house booking engine and website. In this role you will report to IT Manager as well as work closely with Senior Developer. Our client needs someone who can work independently, meet department deadlines, and must be able to follow standard practices. You must have strong creative skills in coding and design. Be willing to learn fast on the job and keep up with their fast-paced dynamic work environment.    

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily product enhancements and maintenance
• Analyze current technologies and suggest strategies for improvements
• Consult with teammates to discuss all possible technical solutions
• Contribute to project strategy, scope and specifications
• Create Unit Test cases, testing your own code and performing code review
• Perform production support with some but limited weekend hours when performing large project code deployment

Desired Skills & Experience

• Ability to work from user requirements based on written or workflow (visual) documentation
• PHP Frameworks (Candidate will be tested)
• Linux knowledge (Candidate will be tested)
• MySQL command line (Candidate will be tested)
• VIM Editor - an asset
• Ability to follow standards and plans set by Senior Developer and IT Manager.
• Can work independently, with minimal supervision by Senior Developer
• Experience with CRM or ERP software - an asset
• Experience with Mercurial (hg) or Git - an asset

Education:  

• College or University degree in Computer Science or related field of study

• Strong experience in the required skills will be considered if candidate does not meet educational requirements
